Germination is the sprouting of a seedling that has been dormant.  In order to germinate seeds they need the proper water, oxygen, and temperature.  Some seeds need light and others need darkness to germinate. When seeds have their environmental conditions met they begin to swell. Then the seed coat breaks open and a root (radicle) appears.  A plumle that contains the leaves and stem will follow the root.

Causes of poor germination:

* Over watering

* Planting seeds to deep

* Lack of water ( moisture)

* Seed coat is too hard

* Improper Temperature
